Founded in 1806, Reisen Brewery is located in Yoro Town, home to the legendary Yoro Waterfall, famed for the tale of water turning into sake. Guided by the philosophy of crafting “delicious sake” rather than simply “good sake,” the brewery’s name and flagship brand, Reisen, trace back to Empress Gensho, who praised the spring as a beautiful source worthy of sustaining the elderly—giving rise to the name Reisen, meaning “spiritual spring.”
